The Picture Lounge - NZ Photographers Gallery

The Picture Lounge - NZ Photographers Gallery

48 Helwick Street, Wanaka ,
The Picture Lounge - New Zealand Photographers Gallery is a business venture by Wanaka based graphic designer and professional photographer Christopher Thompson. Christopher has opened the gallery to promote the work of talented New Zealand-based photographers. Whilst many of the gallery’s exquisite pieces showcase the delights and drama of the local Central Otago landscape, the collection is made all the more exciting for the unique photography that captures the broader essence of ‘the New Zealand experience’ and furthermore with images from well beyond New Zealand’s borders. Proudly representing some of New Zealand’s luminary photographers, the gallery features a selection of landscape, travel, adventure and fine art photography – the work being available either framed or as loose prints, in open and limited editions. One can also browse through physical or digital catalogues for other photographs ‘available to order’ from the represented photographers. Selected photographic publications are also available. Loose prints can be packaged on-site to be safe for travel and/or post, and all work can be shipped to overseas destinations. The well-presented gallery currently carries the work of photographers; Craig Potton, Gilbert van Reenen, Mike Langford, Jackie Ranken, Paul Gummer, Chris McLennan, Adam Buckle, Helmut Hirler, Richard Sidey, Camilla Stoddart, Aliscia Young and Christopher David Thompson. With the work of more of New Zealand’s best photographers to be added over the coming months, the gallery’s exciting collection will continue to change and grow, ensuring that The Picture Lounge is always well worth a visit.
