A museum and art gallery only 15 minutes north of Wellington, PATAKA is dedicated to celebrating our heritage & specialises in showcasing Maori, Pacific Island, New Zealand, Asian and international contemporary art & culture. PATAKA has five main galleries with over 14 major exhibitions annually. Enjoy a coffee at the cafe while relaxing beside our Japanese garden or let us tempt you with a gift from our New Zealand craft shop. PATAKA is part of an integrated facility that includes the city's public library and the adjoining Te Rauparaha Arena, fitness gyms, swimming pools, and skateboard park.

Situated in the centre of town the museum is housed in the old Motueka District High School building, opened in 1913.The museum frontage is used as a central public meeting place.

Nina van der Voorn Gallery exhibits and promotes contemporary art. It shows work that is engaging, aesthetic, and sparks discourse.

The gallery is owned and managed by Leonie Cadman. It has new exhibitions monthly, sells local art and unique craft, sculptures and recycled furniture. It has cosy art filled accomodation in the building. Leonie is a photographer and works with Sarah Proude as Sarah Leonie Photography in a studio at the back of the building.

Art Expo Gallery has been operating as a non dealer Gallery ( no commission on sales ) since 2007. Established on 7th September 2007 exhibiting just 8 local artists. Today Art Expo Gallery displays 30 plus local artists sharing their individual talents for the public to experience. We opened our doors on the 5th December 2011 as Artlocker, selling arts and crafts made by Bob and myself. We also sell the work of local and talented artists. We have been glass making for the last 15 years, self taught and also enjoy playing around with ceramics. Price is also different on how much is going on in the photo that you want draw/painted Indian Ink - A4 between $30 - $50 - A3 about $40 - $60 Extra colors can be added in the Indian ink (no extra cost) Charcoal - A4 $30-$55 - A3 $45 - $90 All the materials I use are all artist grade and I've only selected the brands that I know and trust to be the best.
