Wairoa College

Wairoa College

Lucknow St, Wairoa, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, Wairoa ,
Wairoa College is a rural High School on the East Coast of the North Island, Aotearoa, New Zealand. Our environment is spacious set in park like surroundings. The move from Primary School to College is a significant milestone. It coincides with entering adolescence and a growing independence. The number of subjects that the students study increases, as do their social contacts. They now start their preparation for national qualifications and to think about what life has to offer. The prospect of all these changes can be threatening to parents and students and the move to College may be viewed with some nervousness. At Wairoa College we want to make this transition as smooth as possible. We hope that the information that accompanies this will answer a lot of questions that you may have. If there are other things that you would like to know then do not hesitate to contact the school. If you would like to meet with me or any other staff member, contact the school office who will organise a mutually convenient time. Our Mission Statement says that we are here "to provide a balanced education within a stable, multicultural environment which encourages self-esteem and learning". Please be assured that we will do our very best to meet the needs of your son or daughter. We excel in academic, cultural and sporting activities, with total immersion learning for Maori if they wish. We have a large number of Maori students of Kahungunu descent.

Fun times being had, yelling out to the cuzzies walking past the studio. That's a part of who we are. We love being here, and we know you do too. And that's something worth shouting from the rooftops! (For Health & Safety reasons, we advise against shouting anything from rooftops).
