WOF CrossFit

9A Wall Place, Porirua ,
WOF CrossFit are excited to announce our opening! Saturday the 15th June 2013 at 12pm 9a Wall Place, Porirua Come along and check out our Set up! BOX RULES: TURN UP. Be on time, practice technique & be consistent, listen to coaches and learn new skills. LEAVE YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR. CrossFit is humbling to everyone, AIM for progression not perfection. Trying to be perfect and better than everyone will leave you in tears. IF YOU DON'T KNOW – ASK! Coaches are here for you all the time. Ask Questions and get answers. SUPPORT OTHER MEMBERS. CrossFit is community driven. When it rains we all get wet, we may train as individuals but we workout as community. LET COACHES COACH We have experienced coaches who know what they are talking about and it’s their job to INFORM, INSTRUCT and coach technique, while support is great, leave the technical advice to the coaches. INJURIES Don’t do stupid things. Eliminate the unnecessary by listening to the coaches, always follow: TECHNIQUE-CONSISTENCY-INTENSITY. If niggles do occur tell us. Do your mobility work always. DON’T PUT DOWN, PUT AWAY! We would love our members to view our box as theirs own and treat it as such. Once we are all done, only then put your gear away. Clean up tape and keep chalk in the bucket. EAT WELL Eat meat & vegetables, nuts & seeds, some fruit, little starch & no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Keep it simple. Results reflect your nutrition & your training period. HAVE FUN! While we do take our training seriously, we want everyone to have some fun in the process. We enjoy laugh as much as you do!

Sophie Robbers Homeopathy

Sophie Robbers Homeopathy

C/- Thats Better Ltd 1A 73 Kenepuru Dr, Porirua ,
Benefits of Homeopathy • Homeopathy is practised on a personal and individual level; Homeopaths do not treat the disease, we treat the patient and their individual symptoms • Homeopathy recognises that all symptoms are expressions of ill-health and that the whole patient needs healing as opposed to just the clinical disease • Homeopathy aims to bring the entire being back into harmony, and takes into consideration all of a patients symptoms, including those on the physical, mental and emotional levels. • Homeopathy can be useful in treating a wide range of complaints as it aims to harmonise the patient in a safe, non-toxic way. What Happens during Treatment? In order to find the correct remedy out of over 3000 remedies, the Homeopath needs as much information as possible. This involves many questions about the patient and their illness. The initial consultation lasts between 60-90 minutes and follow-up consultations are 30-45 minutes. Remedy administration is as individualised as the cases themselves, and the potency, frequency and duration of the remedy will be determined by the case. Follow-up consultations are generally required 3-4 weeks after the initial consultation, but can vary depending on the patient and their complaint. Who am I? My name is Sophie Robbers, and I have been involved in Homeopathy for many years. I decided to study Homeopathy after using it myself and being both amazed and enriched by its influence on my physical, emotional and mental health. I am still as enthusiastic about Homeopathy as I was the day I started studying it, and I am extremely excited to be able to share my knowledge and experience with others, and help them benefit from the amazing results Homeopathy can provide. I ensure that my patients are comfortable and happy with their treatment, and aim to provide the best possible treatment I can by constant study and professional development. I also ensure that my patients are provided with adequate and ongoing support outside of the consultation room. Patient confidentiality is an important factor in my practice, and each patient is treated on an individual and personal level, as the principles of Homeopathy dictate.

Team Bacchante Racing

Team Bacchante Racing

Team Bacchante Racing, Porirua ,
From a Catalogue in 1983: The design brief for MOONSHINE was to produce a very fast, low cost, easily handled cruising sloop that could be home-built. This design was the starting point of the Farr concept of light displacement, super- efficient cruising yachts. The displacement length ratio chosen for this design was one that Farr felt would be low enough to allow early surfing downwind in seas, and planing in strong winds in flat water, but not so low as to mean insufficient displacement, and therefore ballast, to provide enough stability to be a fast boat to windward. Well Bacchante was designed in 1971 and built in 1978 for the then Commodore of the RNZYS who owned her for three years. An Auckland yacht broker owned before Brian King purchased her and successfully campaigned her for several years out ofLittleton Yacht club winning several offshore events and a PHRF win in the Wellington to Gisborne event in1996. Brian purchased Bacchante in 1997 and has proudly provided over 236 sailors with learning experiences. He has sailed and taught Boatmaster courses utilising passages from Gisborne to Anarua Bay, Tauranga and Napier. ( more to come)
