Darfield High School is a New Zealand state co-educational High School which offers international students the opportunity to study and learn English in a safe and friendly environment. The school is situated near the magnificent Southern Alps - 25 minutes from Christchurch International Airport and 40 minutes from the centre of Christchurch City. International students enjoy living and studying in a rural environment, without the distractions of the city, whilst still having access to the city and all the outdoor activities our environment offers. Darfield High School and the local community have been hosting international students for over ten years. Close and long-lasting relationships have been formed between international students and their host families along with students at school and people in the local community. Our teaching staff are well qualified, friendly and always willing to assist and encourage all our international students. We welcome international students from many countries around the world. Students coming to our school for an English education are prepared academically for entry into university in their country of origin and/or in New Zealand. Students who choose to experience Outdoor Education will be offered experiences that they will remember for the rest of their lives.

The Hororata Golf Club is an 18 Hole picturesque course situated in the small rural township of Glentunnel, some 35 minutes West of Christchurch. It is a par 71 for both the white and yellow courses. Ladies golf is Tuesday mornings and Mens Golf is Saturday afternoon. Visitors are most welcome and course is also available for group hires by contacting the Secretary, Margaret on 03 3186546. Greenfee players are Welcome. Greenfees are $25 for non affiliated and $20 for affiliated. Weekly Greenfees are $100.
