MaxiGibb is a high quality gibberellic acid. Despite its “chemical” sounding name, gibberellic acid is a naturally occurring plant hormone that accelerates the growth and elongation of cells. Or in plain English, it makes your grass grow faster and longer if it’s applied at the right time and in the right dose. Results vary depending on the pasture and soil that it is applied to, and the time of year it is applied – but tests indicate dry matter production can be boosted by 30-60%. Grass not only tends to grow longer, but pasture is also much thicker and lusher than control samples where gibberellic acid has not been applied. When should MaxiGibb be applied? Because MaxiGibb is a growth accelerator, it should be applied when conditions are suitable for grass to grow. Typically this would be in spring and autumn – but this will vary from region to region. Increasingly, we are seeing farmers using MaxiGibb outside these times as their local conditions allow. How should MaxiGibb be applied? It is vital that grass is grazed prior to applying MaxiGibb. MaxiGibb should be applied 1-5 days after grazing when there is some green leaf present. Optimum results will occur when the soil temperature is between 6-13°C. •Add MaxiGibb to at least 100L of water and a wetter surfactant such as AgLab’s StickerWetter at 25ml/100L. •Apply MaxiGibb either aerially or using a boom sprayer. How much MaxiGibb do I need per hectare? Only 9g per hectare. We supply you with a handy cylinder with pre-printed measurements so it is easy to measure on farm. How much does MaxiGibb cost? Prices start from only $8.95+GST per hectare. 250g = $325+GST 500g = $550+GST 1kg = $995+GST Discounts for bulk orders do apply – contact us to find out more. How does MaxiGibb compare with other gibberellic acids on the market? Not all gibberellic acids are created equal – the critical factor is in the concentration of gibberellic acid that you have bought. MaxiGibb has a high concentration of gibberellic acid – 900g/Kg. It is important when you compare MaxiGibb with other gibberellic acids that this figure is taken into account. The easiest way to compare gibberellic acids is to work out a per hectare cost. Working this out allows you to compare products of a different strength and usage rate.
Springvale Equine

Springvale Equine

85 Kelliher Lane, Alexandra ,
Located in Springvale, only 7kms from the township of Alexandra is the small equestrian establishment, 'Springvale Equine Limited'. Here, Shane Cooper and Nicky Seyb breed, raise and train horses for the competition and pleasure market. The combination of Shane and Nicky is one of diversity: Shane has ridden horses all his life, having a predominately rodeo background, in which he competed successfully both here in New Zealand, Canada and the U.S.A. He continues to enjoy Team Roping. Shane also competes in the show jumping arena and loves to go hunting with the Central Otago Hunt Club. Nicky has also been riding all her life, and is especially interested in show jumping horses. She has enjoyed success in many various competition arenas including showjumping, show hunter, show classing, dressage, eventing and even western pleasure and halter. At Springvale Equine, we 'break in' or 'start' a select number of horses each year. We also specialise in 'Horse and Owner Education'; helping with issues such as loading on the float, and developing a mutually respectful relationship with your horse. We also can help with horse management, e.g feeding and exercise. Please contact us for further information. Shane Cooper is also a registered farrier in the Central Otago and Southern Lakes district. Nicky Seyb is available to take riding lessons, and specialises in jumping tuition, preferably on your own mount, however we can sometimes provide horses. Nicky also has a clipping service. We take horses on for schooling and fitness work. The stallions stand at public stud from August until January.
