We are a friendly, small animal based clinic located on Mill Road in Otaki. Our staff team consists of two Veterinarians Angela For& Sue Blaikie, and three Veterinary Nurses Donna, Shiree and Emma. We endevour to provide the best care for both owners and pets. Our services include puppy pre-school, radiography, ultrasound, laboratory blood analysis and specialised surgery such as bone surgery. Even though we are a small parctice, we have very good facilities and we pride ourselves on being caring and compassionate, endeavouring to build a strong relationship with our clients and their pets. We have two vets, Graham Kirker and Maria Lombard who job share and two nurses Emily and Nicole who are aways ready with a smile, advise and a helping hand ( especially with those tablets!) We offer walking, obedience training, transport, holiday care, doggy daycare, small pet boarding and some grooming. We are a small home-based business and are constantly expanding so any enquiries about services we do not have listed are always welcomed. We also run a small animal pet shelter (excluding cats,dogs and large animals) and are happy to take on any strays, abandoned or unwanted pets. We offer an alternative to the SPCA where the animal can get more specialist care. We believe that all animals great and small deserve love and respect! We also are in affiliation with a rat and rabbit breeding facility and will post animals for sale as they come up!

The Small Animal Surgeon Ltd (TSAS) was established in October 2003 and is owned and operated by Dr Ruth Youmans. Ruth is a veterinary specialist registered by the Veterinary Council of New Zealand in the field of Small Animal Surgery. The clinic operates out of premises in Papakura, South Auckland, through an agreement with Franklin Vets. Our primary function is to provide specialist consultancy, and surgical procedures to referring veterinarians and their clients to aid in the treatment of companion and small animals (cats, dogs, etc). Clients are referred to Ruth by their general practice veterinarian in situations where specialist knowledge, skills and care are required or have been requested. The referred client and their pet will be requested to attend a consultation with Ruth to discuss patient history, presentation, initial diagnosis and possible treatment. From this point the client can then decide to progress with further specialist services or decide to return to their regular veterinarian for general practice care.
