The WDC Youth Committee is made up of 18 diverse young people ranging in age from 12-24 years old. Our job is to speak up, speak out and be heard on issues that effect youth in our city. We meet formally in the Council Chambers once every 6 weeks and informally as well. We make submissions on behalf of the youth of Wanganui, run events such as Picnic In The Park and have initiatives like $300ships to help our young people achieve their dreams.
Families can borrow 3 toys per child (for 2 weeks), with a maxium of 6 toys plus additional puzzles.
The Toy Library is a great place to meet other fantastic families, saves you LOTS of money (no need to buy toys when you can borrow!), provides your children with a super variety of toys and allow you to try out toys before perhaps buying.
Membership is $45 per family (plus 2 duties), $60 (1 duty) or $80 (with no duties) We also provide a Grandparent membership of $20 per year which allows you to use the library 6 times.
The Wanganui City Mission provides caring, professional social services to those in need throughout Wanganui.
Our office is open 9am until 2:30pm Monday - Friday

The work of the City Mission benefits mostly from Church Levies, charitable trusts and Foundations. Funding also comes from individual donations and bequests from the people of Wanganui. Added to this is the contribution of time and skills of dozens of volunteer workers in all areas of the City Missions operations.
FUNDRAISING:
On average it costs in excess of $800 A DAY to keep our services running - and demand is growing! Monetary donations can be made directly to the Wanganui City Missions Account:

Donations of non- perishable food, toiletry items, fresh fruit/ vegetables for the Foodbank are always greatly appreciated!
These can be dropped off to the Foodbank located at 183 Wicksteed street Wanganui Between 9am and 2:30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
We are a family of Christians who love the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word, and who strive to serve Him in this community He has placed us in. We believe in the faithful proclamation of God's Word and then the obedient application of those principles in our lives through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Youth Services Trust provides services to youth aged between 12-25 years of age and currently has a Doctor (by appointment only) & Nurses Clinic (appointments recommended). YST also has a Counsellor, Youth Worker and also works with other service providers to offer Youth specific support groups and workshops.
