Tauranga Time Bank

Tauranga Time Bank

PO Box 1187, Tauranga ,
How does it work? Time Bank Members post ‘requests for service’ on the Time Bank Community Site. Members who can provide that service make contact and a ‘time exchange’ occurs. The person receiving the service pays the person providing the service in time credits. 1 hour of time = 1 time credit. The person receiving the time credits can now use them to ‘buy’ time or work from any Time Bank member. Time Bank Members keep track of their exchanges and 'time credits' on our Time Bank site.

Living Dharma Tauranga

Living Dharma Tauranga

Living Dharma Tauranga is a gathering of on-going friendship, an aspiration to support enquiry into the myriads roots of wholesome living, to support physical, emotional and mental healing in individuals and collectives, to encourage a reverence for all life and a deepening understanding of how to be of service to others in times of need. Dharma is traditionally translated as truth, teaching, phenomena or fact. It is composed of the syllables dhar, which is the root of the verb to hold or support, and ma, which in many languages is the basis for the word mother and matrix. Living Dharma is an on-going enquiry into the matrix that supports our lives. It is discovered through our day to day activities of living, not just studying or thinking about or meditating on, "the teaching". Living dharma is the truth or phenomena or teaching of community, of life affirming relating. It is inherently and necessarily inclusive of all forms and expressions of life. Drawing inspiration from the world’s great wisdom traditions, modern science, and the unbroken oral transmission of Buddhist Teachings, we engage in a range of mindfulness and meditation practices to foster wisdom, compassion and awareness in the midst of everyday living. Tauranga grounds these activities in local conditions, local relevancies, needs and concerns; Dharma as applied in Tauranga, now – today.
