Enterprising Taumarunui Inc. (ETI) has the broad and exciting objective for the publicity and promotion of Ruapehu District to attract industry and employment, turism and new residents. We are looking for people of passion and skills who will get behind our future and get stuck in to build Taumarunui.

The 155km adventure begins in Stratford and ends in Taumarunui on the Central Plateau, with Mount Ruapehu looming in front of you.

A non-profit organization. We provide mentoring based services and youth activities.

Ruapehu Christian Camp is based in the Ruapehu District, and can accommodate up to forty-five people. It is located close to Mt Ruapehu, which makes it an ideal base for skiing/snowboarding. As well as our convenient position near the mountain, we also offer many on-site activities for those days when the mountain is closed, such as giant tree climb, low ropes challenge, archery, slug guns, paintball, teambuilding initiatives, and more! The redevelopment of Taupo Hospital was included with Lakes District Health Board business case approved by the Minister of Health in 2008 at a cost of $12.9 million. There is a shortfall in funds of $1.3 million; the Society has accumulated funds over the last 20 years and is able to contribute $750,000 and is appealing a further $550,000 from the Taupo District business community and the public. The appeal fund will be used specifically for the refurbishment of the the In-Patient ward. The full redevelopment will provide the residents of the Taupo District with first class health facilities.

The Taupo Mountain Bike Club runs frequent events in Wairakei Forest, open to everyone. The events are always well managed and good fun, entry fees are low, and thanks to our great local sponsors, the events are always good value. And there is something for everyone - you don't have to be a "boy racer". Our Summer Evening Handicap Series is a great way to start, good fun and social, and you have a chance to improve your handicap. The Craters Classic is a more serious cross country event, with long and short course options. Then there are Teams Races, Thursday night Night-Rides, and more. A large part of any profit made by the Club goes to Bike Taupo, for maintenance and development of MTB tracks in Wairakei Forest. And aren't those tracks great - flowing singletrack with a pumice all-weather surface.

Bike Taupo is a cycling advocacy group, which was formalised in October 2002 to create a community representation for Taupo cyclists.
