Waitaki Flight School

Waitaki Flight School

North Otago Aero Club is a non-profit organisation at the Oamaru airport and is owned and run by it's very active member base. We teach people to fly through the Waitaki Flight School. We are the place to go to learn to fly whether you want to just give it a go with our $99 trial flight (a good 20 mins over Oamaru), or want to gain a full pilots license. You can get a Private Pilots license for fun, or if you want to start a great career you can get a Commercial Pilots License with the option of an Instructor Rating to gain valuable experience. Flying is an experience everyone should experience at least once! Trial flights are a great way to achieve a memory you will not forget. They make the perfect present! Pilots licenses allow you to take your friends and head away for a few days anywhere in the country. Travelling in style, you might choose to land on a beach on Stewart Island, visit Milford Sound on your own terms, experience the excitement of Christchurch International Airport from the pilots point of view, or maybe a wild weekend in Queenstown. Once you have a license our plane is available for hire at an hourly rate. You only pay for what you use, and there are no strings attached. For a full schedule of costs please see the notes on this page. North Otago Aero Club has a commercial arm (Waitaki Air Services) which is aimed at making the member's rate cheaper. Various charter options are available. See www.noac.co.nz
