Waihi East is a decile 3 co-ed contributing school catering for children in the 5 to 11 year age range (Yr 1 - Yr 6) and at the end of Year 6 pupils transfer to Waihi College (Yr 7 – Yr 13). The majority of New Entrant children who enroll have had early childhood learning experience and the close proximity of Waihi Kindergarten is used to the advantage of both institutions. The school roll is currently 125 pupils, our Principal is Emily Hargreaves, we have 6 classroom teachers, 2 classroom based teacher aides, a resource teacher of learning and behaviour (RTLB) based at East School, 2 office administrators (not full time), a caretaker and dental therapists who work in the school.
