Wellington Girls' College was founded in 1883 in Wellington New Zealand. At that time it was called Wellington Girls' High School. Wellington Girls' College is a year 9 to 13 state secondary school, located in Thorndon in central Wellington.

Wellington city has four botanic gardens: Wellington Botanic Garden Otari-Wilton's Bush Bolton Street Memorial Park Truby King House and Garden Wellington Botanic Garden is just a short walk from the central city. Enjoy the fantastic views, unique landscape, native and exotic trees, floral displays and intriguing plant collections. And don't forget the playground, duck pond, Begonia House, gift shop and cafe. Otari-Wilton's Bush is the only public botanic garden in the country devoted entirely to the cultivation, study and preservation of native plants. Wellington Botanic Garden and Otari-Wilton's Bush are both recognised by the New Zealand National Gardens Trust as being of national significance.

Established in 2002, the Lone Star Wellington restaurant is nestled in the Courtney Quarter in a real character office block formerly known as the “Globe Building”. This circa 1920 structure has been lovingly restored with a blend of both historical and modern design. Inside you’ll find a sprawling contemporary and luxurious area in which to dine, imbibe and relax in - a reputable addition to the gastronomic centre of New Zealand. Downstairs the Café seats around 130, including relaxing booth areas and an eye-catching flaming star fireplace (a much sought after dining location, especially during the winter months). Upstairs we have an elegant, opulent Lounge Bar with DJs most nights and a function room which caters for up to 60 people, available 7 days per week.
