Fiordland National Park occupies the southwest corner of the South Island of New Zealand. It is the largest of the 14 national parks in New Zealand, with an area of 12,500 km², and a major part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site. The park is administered by the Department of Conservation.Geographical featuresDuring the cooler past, glaciers carved many deep fiords, the most famous (and most visited) of which is Milford Sound. Other notable fiords include Doubtful Sound and Dusky Sound. From one of the peaks within Fiordland National Park, a view of Mount Aspiring/Tititea to the far north can be observed.Fiordland's coast is steep and crenellated, with the fiords running from the valleys of the southern ranges of the Southern Alps, such as the Kepler and Murchison Mountains. At the northern end of the park, several peaks rise to over 2,000 metres.Ice has carved islands from the mainland, leaving two large uninhabited offshore islands, Secretary Island and Resolution Island. Several large lakes lie wholly or partly within the park's boundaries, notably Lake Te Anau, Lake Manapouri, Lake Monowai, Lake Hauroko, and Lake Poteriteri. The Sutherland Falls, to the southwest of Milford Sound on the Milford Track, are among the world's highest waterfalls.

The Manawatu River is a major river of the southern North Island of New Zealand.The river has its headwaters to the northwest of Norsewood in the Ruahine Ranges of southern Hawke's Bay. It flows initially eastward before turning south-west near Ormondville, flowing 40 km before turning north-west near Woodville. At this point the river enters the Manawatu Gorge. Beyond the gorge it again turns south-west, flowing through the city of Palmerston North, and finally becomes the Manawatu Estuary as it enters the Tasman Sea at Foxton Beach.:)The river, along with the more northern Whanganui River, gives its name to the Manawatu-Wanganui region. The river's name comes from the Māori words manawa (heart, spirit) and tū (stand still, or depressed), therefore heart standing still with fear, or depressed spirit. Haunui was in pursuit of his wife and arrived at this river clutching his chest when he named this river.Physical environmentThe river is unique among New Zealand rivers, starting on the east side of the main dividing range and having its outflow to the west. The explanation for this is the uplift of the central ranges. The ranges moved upwards at the same time as the gorge was eroded by the river, instead of the more usual erosion of an already existing range. This suggests that the river is an old one, as it must have existed before the Ruahine and Tararua Ranges.

Netball North Harbour is the Netball Centre responsible for the development and management of netball within North Shore City and is based at the AMI Netball Centre on Northcote Road, Takapuna. The Board and Executive Committees, made-up of volunteers, form the nucleus of Netball North Harbour’s management structure and work in conjunction with paid staff and contractors to ensure that quality programmes and competitions are continuely delivered. The playing membership consists of over 14,000 members and our competitions cater for primary school to senior club players. Alongside these traditional competitions are our social twilight competitions - our adult competition runs in six week blocks throughout the year, we have our end of year primary, intermediate and college summer leagues and the newly introduced VBall, Ladies Day and Business House leagues. Netball North Harbour delivers activities across all age groups and skill levels. These include competitive and social netball, player, coach, umpire and administrator development and the provision of modern facilities for club and school activities. Community involvement is also encouraged and our quality facilities and rooms are available for hire for business meetings, seminars, community groups, weddings and social functions.
