The South Waikato Safer Community Council (SWSCC) has been in operation since 1997. Our purpose is to enhance community capability to respond to issues of crime and anti-social behaviour at the local level.
The SWSCC Committee is a mix of government agencies, representatives of community groups and individuals with an interest or investment in crime prevention.
The South Waikato Safer Community Council has identified FIVE priorities for our District, they are:
1 Family Violence
2 Offending by Youth
3 Residential Burglary
4 Property Damage/Graffiti
5 Disorderly Behaviour
Gordon Blake is the Chairperson of the South Waikato Safer Community Council. He has been with the SWSCC since its inception and is a strong advocate for change within our Community.
Selena John is our Coordinator/Secretary and is available to assist any group or organisation interested in helping to reduce crime and their effects within our Community.
