Playball Taranaki
Playball© is a sport and movement program for children between the ages of two and eight years of age. All of the programs are taught in a fun-filled, energetic and positive environment, and for the last 25 years, children from all over the world have loved it!
Our mission is to introduce all children to sport, in an enjoyable setting so they not only enjoy sport and carry on with it in their future, but they learn valuable life and sporting skills from their involvement and experience.
Personally, I am a Taranaki local, growing up in New Plymouth and attending New Plymouth Boys' High School. Sport is my passion, being involved in sport teams in one way or another since the age of 4years old, and i am lucky enough to have played representative sport since then. At school i was involved in both the 1st XI cricket team and 1st XV rugby teams. I have also played representative cricket for Taranaki through the ages group levels, as well as last year playing two games for the Auckland B rugby team and being selected to play for the Cook Islands Sevens team.
These experiences have shown me the opportunities sport can create for everyone, whether it being part of a team sport or an individual sport. Skills developed early are extremely useful later in ones sporting life, and early exposure to sport also develops essential activity and sporting habits.
I have been involved with Playball since May 2010 in Auckland, and have loved working with children and helping them to learn and develop through sport! Children love it and I'm sure you will love them getting involved too!
