The Napier Municipal Theatre combines elegant art deco style with modern theatre facilities, making it one of the best provincial performing arts centre in New Zealand. A true Hawke’s Bay theatre, our stage has been graced with international acts and local performers alike. The theatre has a seating capacity of 993. The stunning auditorium is available for hire for everything from stage productions to corporate launches. The circular Pan Pac foyer offers another stunning environment in which to entertain, exhibit, conference or hold an unforgettable function. Seating 300 theatre-style or 80 banquet-style this attractive foyer is an ideal small entertainment venue complete with full bar service facilities. The Pan Pac foyer is also home to our Box Office. Our friendly and helpful ticketing staff can assist you with up and coming event and concert bookings right here at the Napier Municipal Theatre and nationwide. Except Public Holidays, we are open for Box Office sales: • Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm • Saturday 9:00 am to 12:30 pm • or prior to performances.

Every year we care for thousands of lost, sick, injured, abandoned and abused animals. We rescue animals from harmful situations, attend hundreds of animal emergencies, and investigate hundreds of complaints about the ill-treatment of animals. SPCA Napier & Hawkes Bay has the power to protect all animals from abuse, neglect, and abandonment, including prosecuting people under the Animal Welfare Act 1999. Marineland of New Zealand was a marine mammal park in Napier, New Zealand. The park opened in 1965 and closed to the public in 2008. It has had several species of native marine wildlife, including the common dolphin, the New Zealand fur seal, little blue penguin and gannets. Marineland also has California sea lions, a sulphur crested cockatoo, otters and more.History1960sThe history of Marineland began in 1964 when an Auckland architectural firm was commissioned by Napier City under mayor Peter Tait to design an aquarium and dolphin pool. In late January 1965 Marineland caught its first common dolphin, Daphne, and the facility opened two days later. In 1969 two dolphins died when vandals broke in and fed them nails.By the end of the 1960s the site had exhibited dusky dolphins, Californian sea lions, leopard seals and New Zealand fur seals.1970sThe year 1970 saw bottlenose dolphins and weddell seals welcomed to the site. In 1976 four small clawed otters arrived from Melbourne Zoo. A year later the current General Manager, Gary Macdonald was appointed.
