Flax Cottage Animal Inn
Flax Cottage Animal Inn is a boarding kennel and cattery set in the peaceful South Taranaki countryside. It has been under the same ownership since its inception in 1988 when Flax Cottage Partnership was formed.
Cleanliness, comfort and security are the watchwords at Flax Cottage, and the happiness of the animals is paramount. All of the staff are passionate about animal welfare, and caring for animals is what they love to do.
We ensure one-on-one contact with every animal, every day, and their health, eating and toileting are all closely monitored.
We cater for all types of animals, including:
• Geriatric pets
• Pets on medication
• Bitches on heat
• Special diets
• And other small animals
KENNELS
We have three kennel blocks:-
• Extra Large kennels (for giant breeds or families of dogs that live together)
• Large kennels
• And the Small-Dog kennels
We have six generous, tree-shaded play areas, where the dogs are let out twice a day. In addition, dogs can be taken for walks.
CATTERY
Our Cattery can accommodate up to 36 cats. We have 3 dormitories in which
each cat has his or her own house, and each dormitory has its own play area with shrubs and ferns, and shelves to climb on.
