The Auckland Domain is Auckland's oldest park, and at 75 hectares one of the largest in the city. Located in the central suburb of Grafton, the park contains all of the explosion crater and most of the surrounding tuff ring of the Pukekawa volcano.

The Auckland Harbour Bridge is an eight-lane box truss motorway bridge over the Waitemata Harbour, joining St Marys Bay in Auckland with Northcote in the former North Shore City, New Zealand. It is part of State Highway 1 and the Auckland Northern Motorway. The bridge is operated by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). It is the second-longest road bridge in New Zealand, and the longest in the North Island.

From the entrance at the corner of Bowen Ave and Kitchener St, sealed footpaths climb steeply through native trees to the large flat area at the summit, where flower gardens encircle a fountain.

Avondale College is a secondary education college in Avondale, Auckland, New Zealand. It is one of the largest secondary schools in New Zealand with 2,700 students, with 100 of those being international students. There is a large cultural diversity within the school, with an ethnic composition of New Zealand European/ Pākehā 28%, Māori 9%, Samoan 15%, Chinese 12%, Indian 9%, other Asian 7%, other European 5%, Tongan 4%, Niuean 3%, other Pacific 2%, Other 6%. Around 50 different countries are represented in the student body and each of these is represented by a flag in the gymnasium.

King's College is an independent secondary school in New Zealand. It was originally a boys-only school but also admits girls (since 1980) in the sixth and seventh forms (Years 12 and 13). The school has strong links to the Anglican church; the Anglican Bishop of Auckland, and the Dean of Auckland are permanent members of the school's Board Of Governors. Mount Victoria is the highest volcano on Auckland's North Shore, rising to 87 m. Its age is currently unknown. Its lava flows now line much of Devonport's waterfront. An important pa once occupied its slopes, and some of the pa's earthworks can still be seen. A scoria mound known as Duders Hill, on Mount Victoria's southern slopes was mostly quarried away.

RNZAF Base Auckland is a Royal New Zealand Air Force base located near the upper reaches of the Waitemata Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand. The base formerly comprised two separate airfields, Whenuapai and Hobsonville. Hobsonville was established as a seaplane station in 1928 and was the RNZAF's primary flying boat base in New Zealand until 1967. Construction of Whenuapai as a base for Wellington bomber aircraft began in 1937, and from 1945-1965 Whenuapai was also Auckland's civil international airport. Post World War II Auckland became a centre for RNZAF transport and maritime squadrons.These two independent bases were integrated in 1965 to form RNZAF Base Auckland. Hobsonville subsequently became a grass airfield for No. 3 Squadron RNZAF which has now moved to Ohakea. A small army unit was closed down in 2003, and there was some controversy over its future intended use.

Middlemore Hospital is a major hospital in the suburb of Middlemore, Manukau City, New Zealand. The largest hospital operated by the Counties Manukau District Health Board, it offers tertiary-level (hospital and specialist) care as well as a range of other health and social services for the Counties Manukau. Tertiary specialisations include orthopaedic, maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, dentistry, a burn injury treatment centre as well as facilities for rehabilitation, renal dialysis, and neonatal care. As the Auckland Medical School's South Auckland Clinical School, it is also one of the largest tertiary teaching hospitals of New Zealand. The hospital was founded in 1947, and soon received recognition for its work, especially in plastic surgery and orthopaedics.Around 4,700 staff (equivalent of 3,500 full-time positions) provide treatment to more than 91,000 in-patients and over 354,000 out-patients or day-patients per year (data from approximately 2007). It is also known to care for an above-average share of expecting mothers, staff generally delivering over 20 babies per day.
