When balancing the doshas you regulate the hormones, when the hormones are regulated we can experience positive changes in our physical, emotional and mental reality. Classes are designed to maintain health and generate positive physical experience. Postures focus attention on what feels right in the body and cultivate deep relaxation and meditation within the postures. Practice gives participants the opportunity to listen to their own body. Most of the series is done lying on the floor, pranayama is intergrated into the practice – nurturing a freer flow of prana through the asanas and the breath. The eyes are closed most of the time- encouraging letting go of the need for external approval and comparison. Allowing you to experience yourself as the magnificent being that you are, session concludes with a tantric/taoist smiling meditation or yoga nidra. Aromatherapy Massage A thorough consultation where relevant client lifestyle & health info is collected. From this Siri will formulate a blend that is appropriate for you at that time. The oils are applied through a full body massage and steam inhalation, creating a space for deep relaxation. Oils are used with the aim of creating balance physically, mentally and emotionally. During the massage she will address those tight spots, loosening the tissues and improve flexibility. With her unique style of massage & care you may experience benefits such as; * Relaxation and stress relief * Mood enhancement, balance and well being * Boosting the immune, respiratory and circulatory systems * Decreased anxiety. * Enhanced sleep quality. * Greater energy. * Improved concentration. * Increased circulation. * Reduced fatigue. Reiki Reiki (pronounced ray-key) springs out from the Japanese language and means universal life energy. A reiki practitioner has been attuned to this universal energy and acts as a `rod` channeling the energy through their hands. It is holistic, hands on energy healing system that always seek to harmonise and bring the body`s life energy back to balance. (The Usui System of Natural Healing) Receiving reiki energy brings deep relaxation, moves energy blockages, helps the body to detoxify whilst strengthening its energy, promotes its ability to heal itself and increasese the vibrational frequency of the body. Reiki is a useful complementary therapy which may assist with relief in various conditions such as; sports injuries, cuts, burns, internal diseases, emotional disorders, and stress-related illnesses. It works well as a stand alone modalitiy, but also beautifully in conjunction with massage and aromatherapy.

Kohu Acupuncture- Chinese Medicine

Kohu Acupuncture- Chinese Medicine

33 Godley Road, Green Bay., Auckland ,
Chinese Medicine is a very ancient practice developed over many centuries by the Chinese. It includes the use of Acupuncture, massage techniques including Tui Na, Guasha, Reflexology, the use of Chinese Herbal Medicine, and meditative breathing techniques including Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Cupping therapy, Electroacupuncture & Moxibustion are other commonly used techniques in our clinic. Healing incorporates Five Element and TCM principles ofChinese Medicine and the Mind - Body Connection. Our clinic has been designed to incorporate key aspects of chinese medicine such as enabling those receiving treatment to be as close as possible to the natural environment. We are fortunate to be located in the foothills of the beautiful Waitakere Ranges, Auckland's rainforest and water catchment area. Kohu Acupuncture's philosophy incorporates the idea that time is one of the most precious things a practitioner can give a client, therefore the minimum duration allowed for treatment is 50 minutes - 1 hour. Initial consultations (including treatment) may require 1.5 hours, but more commonly are able to completed in 1 hour. The way we enable this to happen is by e mailing out information and history forms to you to complete prior to the first appointment. This process keeps time taken completing forms to a minimum, reducing fees, keeping treatment costs to an affordable level for many clients. New clients contact Rose directly allowing for any questions to be answered by a qualified practitioner and advice given on treatments. We also firmly believe in the idea that knowledge is power and healthcare practice should be based on the philosophical basis of Te Tiriti O Waitangi - Partnership. Client and Practitoner need to work together to achieve the best possible result. There as an expectation that clients will be as open to the therapeutic relationship as possible and understand that thealing comes from within and may require lifestyle changes. Education is integrated throughout the treatment process and Rose encourages as many clients as possible to learn acupressure skills to use during pregnancy, labour and in the post birth period. This assists in keeping clients as healthy as possible and recover quickly from this life-changing event. Lifestyle adjustments, nutritional considerations and self care can not be carried out by any one other than the client. Resources such as Hypnobirthing book and CD are available on loan to Kohu Acupuncture clients at no additional charge, as are moxa sticks & instructions. Obstetric TENs machine is available for hire at a minimal charge to Kohu Acupuncture clients also. We have a range of pregnancy and parenting resources available to clients. Natural materials and colours reflecting the 5 elements have been consciously integrated into the decor of the clinic. Clients are encouraged to relax during treatments. Ideally, appointments are scheduled to allow clients to rest following a treatment in order to maximise the benefits. A range of music is available upon request during acupuncture treament. Children, babies and whanau/family are welcome at the clinic. Breastfeeding (BF) mothers are supported and additional time is allowed for during treatment if BF women bring their babies with them. Many clients prefer to come for treatment without young children as they feel the benefits of treatment are greater when they relax without children present. Other clients relax more when their babies are with them. Individual requirements are met if at all possible. Rose Marie- Qualifications NZRN Comp., Dip. Nursing, Cert. Schwarzkopf

Schwarzkopf

106 Springs Road, East Tamaki , Auckland ,
In 1898, an unknown chemist by the name of Hans Schwarzkopf opened a small drugstore in Berlin called "The Dye, Drug and Perfumery Store". Five years later, he developed the "Shampoo with the Black Head" (from German "Schwarz" for black and "kopf" for head); the first water-soluble powder shampoo ever produced. It became an immediate bestseller and was even exported to Russia. The real international breakthrough came in 1927 when he launched the first liquid shampoo and the first hair conditioner. From Berlin to Hollywood, everyone agreed that hair had never shined more beautifully under the spotlight. Since then it has grown to become one of the top 3 hair cosmetic brands in the world House Rules: This is YOUR fan page and we welcome you to leave comments, photos and links here. From allergies to anxiety, infertility to insomnia, pain to pediatrics, digestion to depression… Acupuncture Studio uses Ancient Practice (traditional wisdom) to treat Modern families for everything that ails them Traditionally trained acupuncturist and experienced manipulative physiotherapist – combining the best of ancient Chinese Medicine with modern Western medicine. This combination of western and eastern treatment techniques gets the most effective outcomes. For example, manipulation with acupuncture for neck or lumbar problems. As a practitioner, my point of difference or uniqueness lies in this ‘East meets West’ philosophy. Many clients that I see will have only heard of acupuncture before but will have little understanding of how it works. I believe I am able to explain the benefits of acupuncture in a way that most people can easily understand. What can acupuncture treat? Womens Health - fertility, menstrual and menopausal problems Cancer – acupuncture can minimise the side effects of chemotherapy & radiotherapy and help to fight of carcinogens. ( Acupuncture can act against carcinogens through its ability to reduce stress and enhance immune function) therefore preventing occurance and reoccurance. Neuro-musculoskeletal conditions – neck and back pain, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, nerve pain, dizziness, headaches, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, sports injuries Respiratory problems - asthma, emphysema, hayfever, allergies, sinusitis and bronchitis Gastrointestinal Conditions - food allergies, ulcers, chronic diarrhea or constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), indigestion and gastritis. Circulatory Disorders - hypertension, angina pectoris (chest pain), arteriosclerosis, high cholesterol Addictions to alcohol, nicotine, food and other drugs Insomnia, depression, anxiety, stress Sports performance enhancement
