Auckland Burrito Review (ABR)
My first taste of burritos was as a child, making my own at home. And yet from a young age I always favoured a burrito over its cousin the kebab. To this day as a matter of fact.
Then - in 2010 - my world changed.
I was taken to Mexicali. The word that best describes my experience is: flabbergasted. Here was a place that, for a small fee, would give me a burrito and I didn’t have to do anything. I quickly became a regular and everything was going great, time flew. Then, out of nowhere it seemed, the OCB opened and all of a sudden there was competition for my burrito dollar. I naturally started to compare the two in my head.
This then progressed to spreading the word about OCB as it was delightful, cheap and new. The trifecta, if you will. What I was really doing though, on a subconscious level I suppose, was sharing my love of the humble burrito.
Every so often someone would say they had a good burrito somewhere else and I knew I would have to go there and judge them for myself. What if their burritos were better? But then I thought, why keep my experiences, my triumphs, my failures to myself? Why not share my experiences with you?
And here we are.
Yes, I may get bored in a couple of weeks and never do another review. Yes, this probably isn’t the quickest route to fame and fortune.
But I do it nonetheless.
I do it for the love of the burrito.
All feedback welcome.
