The St. Peter’s Syrian Orthodox Church was established in New Zealand in September 2002 by the immigrant families and individuals of Syrian Christian tradition from Kerala. This helped us to worship in Malayalam language and Jacobite tradition, to grow in Christian fellowship and friendship. Our Holy Mass is conducted in Malayalam every Sunday 11am @2 Montrose Street@ Point Chevalier. If you know someone who shares the tradition, please refer them to this church. If you are in Auckland, come with us to share the joy of being used by God especially while being in Diaspora. There are families from various parts of Kerala, and a number of them came from various parts of Kerala. You will most probably find a person from your region. The Ponsonby Seventh-day Adventist Church (aka PONSDA) was the first church in the southern hemisphere (Australia and New Zealand) and is thriving even today after serving for more than 125 years.

The Catholic Caring Foundation is based on the Gospel message of Love of God and neighbour, to serve those at the margins of our society. We walk alongside organisations, providing not only financial assistance but mentoring and moral support as they develop programs that care for families and for communities. The Catholic Caring Foundation was established in 1988 by Bishop Denis Browne to enable the Auckland Diocese to assist those in need. Since then, we have distributed in excess of $10 million in grants. Funds raised are distributed to local organisations that are at the coal face of providing help and assistance to those in the community who need it. Today, Bishop Pat Dunn is the patron of the Foundation, and oversees our work from the North Cape to the Coromandel, raising funds and then distributing to agencies who work directly to strengthen families and create vibrant communities. In 2011, we distributed $628,724 to not-for-profit agencies. We are more committed than ever to assist agencies to care for New Zealanders who are marginalised and seek assistance.

To reveal the complete harmony and basic oneness of original Christianity as taught by Jesus Christ and original Yoga as taught by Bhagavan Krishna; and show that these principles of truth are the common scientific foundation of all true religions. To point out the one divine highway to which all paths of true religious beliefs eventually lead: the highway of daily, scientific devotional meditation on God. To liberate man from his threefold suffering: physical disease, mental inharmonies, and spiritual ignorance. To encourage ‘plain living and high thinking’; and to spread a spirit of brotherhood among all peoples by teaching the eternal basis of their unity: kinship with God. To demonstrate the superiority of mind over body, of soul over mind. To overcome evil by good, sorrow by joy, cruelty by kindness, ignorance by wisdom. To unite science and religion through realization of the unity of their underlying principles. To advocate cultural and spiritual understanding between East and West, and the exchange of their finest distinctive features. To serve mankind as one’s larger Self.
