Winnie Bagoes has been The Home of Gourmet pizza for approximately 18 years, in Christchurch. With humble beginnings at 82 Lichfield Street, seating about sixty people growing to a 180 seat restaurant situated at 194 Gloucester Street. This was our home from 2003 to 2010. With the unfortunate and devastating effects of the September 2010 quakes, saw Winnie Bagoes close, due to the unsafe condition of Winnie Bagoes House. Winnie Bagoes found alternative premises and relocated to the old Vic & Whale site, 772 Colombo Street. We were underway again by late October 2010, and we were enjoying trade a happy to be providing Christchurch's Best Gourmet Pizza experience to the people once again. The events of February 2011 with a second sudden jolt, ended our ideas of staying at the Colombo Street. With the loss of the second site within 4 months, had us all at our wits end, and wondering what to do!........ Persistence and determination allowed us to refocus our energies into finding a new site, to be part of the City rebuild.. and make this the Best City in the World!!! We are proud to announce that the new Winnie Bagoes City, will be operational again on Monday 27th May 2013. Phase one as we call it will see only the Bar and courtyard area operational, with a limited Menu, ( watch for the Builders Menu Post). The final phase will comprise, the main dining area, private dining rooms, full kitchen, and offices. this phase should be completed approximately 4 weeks later, with a Grand Opening date late June/early July. We can't wait to see you all back here at Winnies, We can't wait to show you around, we can't wait for your to experience NZ's Best Pizza once again, in the City!!! ......... and we have some surprises.. but you'll have to come and see it all happen,!!!! Known for our generously topped Gourmet Pizzas we also proudly boast an extensive menu featuring our sirloin steak, garlic sizzling prawns, Lamb shanks, pesto chicken, ribs, succulent pastas and salads, as well as nibbles and platters. We proudly use free-range eggs and crate free bacon complimented by both fresh ingredients, and in house methods such as our house made meat balls and house smoked salmon. Our menu caters for both gluten-free and vegetarian, with the option of it being altered to suit individual needs. Open weekdays 11am till late. Food is not our only attraction with experienced Lee leading our Bar mixologists in cocktails and drink service. Our recent win as South Island Winners of the Mount Gay Rum cocktail promotion showcased the infamous Mango Daiquiri and reintroduced the classic Rum Punch and Mai Tai.

The Clevedon Cafe has grown from a humble tea and scones tourist drop in to the current sophisticated cafe and restaurant you can now visit. During the day the cafe serves fantastic breakfast and lunches while the evening offers a beautifully presented restaurant with delicious food created by head chef Natasha Collins. The lunch menu changes every 3 or 4 months and the dinner menu on a much more regular basis. We use Caffe L'affare coffee and make all of the delicious sweet stuff in house.
