This is the fan page for C3 Howick's Emerge Group. All 11 - 14 year olds in the Auckland area are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings at C3 Howick from 10am - 12pm. We look forward to meeting you!

Howick Rotary is one of several hundred clubs in New Zealand and some 32000 internationally. The clubs are organized into Districts for ease of communication and administration within the international organization. Howick Rotary is part of District 9920 which include clubs within the south east area of Auckland as well as some Pacific Islands including Fiji. There are over 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide. Each meeting usually comprises a social half hour around the bar, a meal, a guest speaker who will cover a wide range of business, community, political or service themes and a small measure of formal Rotary business. The club is organized into committees which handle most of the Club’s service and community activities. Currently the Committees are Community, International, Youth (New Generations)/ Vocational, Social, and Club Service, which as each of the names suggest have a different focus. Each Rotarian belongs to one of these committees which normally convene a meeting once per month on a club night to arrange its own projects and activities. The meetings which are normally rotated amongst member’s homes can last up to 2 hours. Rotarians acknowledge that theirs (and indirectly in many cases their wives/partner’s) motives for participation and membership are a mixture of local and international service opportunities, social activity, networking and personal development. An active and enjoyable social programme for Rotarians and their families is seen as an essential ingredient for a lively and efficient club. There are numerous events ranging from committee dinners, Christmas Parties, boating picnics and joint partner invited club nights.

Club Nights All visitors are welcome to our meetings which are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (excluding December and January) in the Howick Bridge Club downstairs rooms at 563 Pakuranga Highway, behind the Howick Community Centre. Doors open at 7.15pm and the meeting commences at 7.30pm, lasting approximately 2 hours. There is an admission charge of $2.00 to help cover the room hire. The meeting covers the club’s reports on previous trips and upcoming trips followed by any general business. A guest speaker is usually invited to speak on a related topic. The evening finishes with time for supper and an opportunity to meet club members and seek any further information you may require regarding the club.

The club meets on Wednesday night, 6.15pm for 6.45pm start.The club meets at the Howick Club in Botany Road, Howick. Anyone interested in visiting a Rotary Club are most welcome, especially potential members and visting Rotarians. All members of the club belong to Rotary International, a worldwide humanitarian organisation.

Harlequin Musical Theatre is a passionate, innovative group dedicated to producing quality theatrical productions. Harlequin Musical Theatre partakes in NAPTA (Northern Area Performance Theatre Awards) and is a member of Musical Theatre New Zealand. Our past shows include the NZ premier of A Christmas Carol and Rent, The Witches of Eastwick, Steaming, West Side Story and Little Shop of Horrors. At the Harlequin Musical Theatre, there are many opportunities for people to be involved – we are always looking for extra sets of hands to help out. Areas include props, front of house, set building, stage crew and production management. Harlequin Musical Theatre is also available for venue hire and we also offer props and costume hire. Xtreme Talent Quest 2013 will provide great opportunities, encouragement, fun and great prizes for the competitors. Enter by completing a registration form and returning it to Uxbridge by dropping it into the office or emailing to Bronwyn at programmes@uxbridge.org.nz. The top 20 finalists will have the opportunity to learn about stage presence and performance skills which will help their confidence and give them the 'edge' on performance night. Expert tutors will work with the finalists to polish thier acts and provide vital skills that can be used over again. Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is the core martial art taught at the Auckland Kali Group based in Howick. Instruction is offered by Lakan Guro Damian Halforty. Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is a close-quarter in-fighting combat system against multiple opponents. It is a system of complete strategies using all close quarters weapons which provides destruction and domination of any combat or self defense situation. Pekiti-Tirsia is an authentic Filipino martial art and is used in combat and survival scenarios by the military, law enforcement and true warriors around the world. It was the fighting style used in the movies ‘300’ and ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’.

MECOSS is part of a Regional and National NGO organisation, which has strong connections to Government departments and policy development in New Zealand . We are actively involved with better provision of Social Services to the people of Manukau East. In Auckland, the network includes Auckland District COSS, Franklin COSS, Kauri Trust Youth Services, Manukau East COSS, Nga Manga o Mangere, North Shore COSS, Waiheke Island COSS and Community Waitakere. Northland members are Kaitaia COSS and Whangarei COSS. NZCOSS is the national organisation for local Councils of Social Services throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. The membership of local COSS includes people in local government and people working locally for central government agencies, as well as people working for not-for-profit and voluntary social service organisations.
