Tokoroa Freemasons

Tokoroa Freemasons

71 Papanui Street, Tokoroa ,
The precise origins of Freemasonry have been lost in time, however, its traditions date back to the Middle Ages and to the stonemasons who built the cathedrals and castles of Europe. To construct them, it was necessary for men to have considerable knowledge of geometry, arithmetic and engineering. These highly skilled masons formed themselves into lodges to protect the skills and secrets of their trade and to pass their knowledge on to worthy apprentices. Importantly, these men were not bondsmen, hence the word “free” in Freemason. By the 17th Century, when the building of castles and cathedrals diminished, Masonry began to lose its ‘operative’ aspects and worthy men who were not craftsmen were also accepted into its membership. It was from this time that Masons were known as ‘free and accepted’ Masons, as they continue to be known to this day. The first Grand Lodge was established in England in 1717 and thereafter Freemasonry spread rapidly throughout the world. Freemasonry has been practised in Australasia since early in the 19th Century.

Care For Families Trust NZ

Care For Families Trust NZ

7 Coventry Way Torbay, Auckland ,
We are always needing donations, everything and anything from small items like clothing, baby wash and lotion, baby baths etc. to larger items like cots, capsules and prams, etc. Whatever prem, baby or children related items you no longer require or feel that you would like to donate goes a long way. Our organization was started when I was still doing home schooling and sitting home the one day looking through freecycle and noticed the alarming amount of posts from parents who were truly battling and were happy to receive anything just to take care of there kids. I started talking to some of the mums and got to know there situations and decided I wanted to make a change, why couldn't people that no longer needed their items pass it on for a good cause? I started with a lovely lady who had a young baby and a toddler and everything in her house had been destroyed by mould and they didn't have the finances to move, so we bought with our own money a cot, change table, clothes, etc. and took it through. She didn't say much and I walked away feeling defeated till about an hour later when I received a txt saying she was over whelmed and in tears as she had never expected a blessing like that, and it was right there and then our organization was born. We were on and off for a while as I got married and tried to start a family of my own which proved slightly harder then expected and after finally finding out we were pregnant with our son and one very long and difficult pregnancy our miracle was born at exactly 33 weeks weighing 1.9kgs. It was then that we expanded to help families with prems as we as a young newly married couple new just how hard and financially straining it could be having a prem. I am so happy to finaly be completely up and running and cant wait to touch many lives as we launch into this full on, and I am truly grateful for and looking forward to all the help from all our wonderful volunteers, sponsors and donors. You dont always relise but the things that seem least important to you can change someone elses life.
