The Hahei Library has over 13,000 books and is open all year round to local and holiday borrowers.
Annual memberships are $20 or holiday subs are $10 for two months per family.
Te Kaakano community garden and nursery is run in partnership between our two organisations – Desert Spring Ministry and A Rocha Aotearoa NZ. We welcome people from all walks of life to join our community project.
Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust is a Not for Profit organisation serving the community since 1995. It was founded by Mr. Jeet Suchdev QSM JP and Ms. Roopa Suchdev QSM along with other like-minded people. We are the largest multi-faith South Asian Group in the whole of Auckland with over 1000+ members on record.
Our primary objective is to ensure that people of the community are benefited by the various activities and programs undertaken by us on a regular basis. We also ensure to foster friendly relations among the community members, by catering to their social, cultural and emotional needs through our regular programs and activities.
We offer a wide range of services through our Senior Citizens Wing, Children & Youth Wing, New Migrants Support Wing and Social Services Wing. These services are delivered with assistance from Members of Executive Committee of Bhartiya Samaj and Volunteers from the Community. We also work in co-operation with other Community Welfare organisations which are operating Auckland region. Our services are available free to the South Asian community irrespective of their language, religion, region and social status.
*Provides advice, information, education, project assistance and facilitation and sponsorship assistance to voluntary community service groups and projects in the fields of educational digital media and related information technology.
*Initiates, develops and undertakes special educational / public information projects where it perceives significant community needs that are not being met.
Our aim is to provide an accessible, high-quality toy library with a wide range of educational toys for children from birth to 7 years for families living in Grey Lynn, Westmere, and Point Chevalier.
Our objectives are to:
- provide the best play and learning opportunities for our children
- enable families and children to enjoy a wide range of toys at minimal financial cost
- promote sustainable and full utilization of toys
- provide a social connection with other families living in the local community
