Canterbury Charters Ltd (learn2sail) operates closley with Canterbury Maritime Training. The Learn2sail sailing school began operating alongside the powerboat courses offered by Maritime Training in 2008, at the urging of Dudley Jackson. The school took over adult learn-to-sail courses from Canterbury Sailing School in early 2008, and has flourished under his direction. Joining the experienced Dudley, Peter Marshall and Mark Quail are occasional tutors on the sail training keeler Good Point, a lovingly crafted timber Whiting 30, rigged for racing. Our instructors hold the necessary commercial qualifications. (Local Launch Operator at minimum) and have thousands of sea hours between them.

Mairangi Bay is a member club of Surf Life Saving Northern Region, a volunteer organisation which provides surf rescue patrols from Raglan in the south to Kaitaia in the North. Mairangi Bay is one of 75 lifesaving clubs in New Zealand all of which are members of the national body Surf Lifesaving New Zealand.

We take enormous pleasure in providing you and your family with a range of 1,200 toys and educational play equipment for children ranging in age from 6 months old to 6 years old. Stocked with well known brands that are well designed, safe and educational for you to borrow for a minimal yearly family membership fee, our range includes ride on toys, outdoor play equipment, role play toys and accessories, train sets, Lego, doll houses, puzzles, dvd's, infant and toddler toys, games, exersaucer's, theme play to name just a few! The library offers two types of memberships depending on whether you can help out during a library session once a term (a 'rostered member') or not ('non-rostered'). Rostered members pay $95 per year, while non-rostered members pay $185. Joining is easy: just pop down to the library during one of our three weekly sessions to have a browse of the toys, pay whichever membership fee you've chosen to our librarian Doris (please make sure you have cash or a cheque on you), fill out some forms and you're away!
