North Shore City is a former territorial authority district in the Auckland region of New Zealand, which was governed by the North Shore City Council from 1989 until 2010. The city had an estimated population of at 30 June 2010, making it the fourth most populous city in New Zealand prior to the November 2010 reorganisation. The former city was also the country's fourth largest city in land, with an area of 129.81 square kilometres and a coastline of 141 kilometres. It was also the most densely populated city in the country because, unlike other New Zealand cities, most of the city's area is urban or suburban in character.

Steve Johnson's City Of Ink opened studio doors on the 1st of April 2010 for business, under the direction of the renowned man himself (40 years and the most awarded tattoo artist in the industry in NZ). Our journey in 2010 became an adventure due to earthquakes closing our business doors for 2 months but never lost spirit, Steve carried on tattooing his magic. The crew at City Of Ink were devastated on the 1st of April 2011 (our first birthday) we lost our mentor to a massive stroke. From that moment to this, our ambition has been to make the man proud and hold the dream high. We have six amazing freestyle artists gifted in the art of tattoo who specialize with passion in their chosen area of expertise. We also have a talented apprentice who is working his way up the ranks. Hygiene/health standards are highly regarded in this shop, equipment is checked and certified regularly.We do not offer a piercing service but can recommend a studio that is highly qualified and also follows high hygiene/health standards. At the end of the day we are a very strong TATTOO family and are proud to carry on Steve's driving passion in tattoo.
