The Whangamata Golf Club has 2 courses that will satisfy the demands of either the more experienced golfer (Titoki 18 hole) or the learner/casual golfer (Williamson 9 hole). We extend an invitation to all golfers be they affiliated or green fee players to play these courses. The Titoki clubrooms have a bar and catering service available on most busy days. Titoki also has a well stocked pro shop that sells all the leading brands of golf gear. Golf carts, trundlers and clubs are also available for hire. Tee bookings are usually required during holiday periods.

With the half marathon (21km), the 10km and 5km events, the Whangamata Run Walk Festival offers something for participants of all ages and abilities. All three courses take in spectacular views of ocean beach & pristine bush-clad hills along the way. Enter individually, with friends and family, or gather a team together for the business house team event. The pride of the Coromandel, Whangamata boasts a wide range of recreational choices including surfing, fishing, kayaking, tramping, mountain biking, birdwatching as well as plenty of shopping, arts and crafts, plus great cafes, restaurants and bars! Although the emphasis is always on safety and fun, last year we were able to distribute a record $8000 back to Whangamata community groups: St Johns Ambulance, Lions and Whangamata Area School among others. We look forward to seeing you on September 1st for this family fun run event; an occasion that always provides a challenge and entertainment for both serious and recreational runners and walkers.

The Trust Waikato Whangamata SLSC was officially formed on 1 December 1949. We now boast a strong membership base and have some of the best club facilities within Surf Life Saving in New Zealand. Trust Waikato Whangamata SLSC hosts full time professional patrols during the peak summer period, and has a strong Junior Surf programme which caters for children under 14 years old. Whangamata, being the largest surf club on the Coromandel Peninsula, often assists other clubs in trainings and large scale rescues.

Whangamata's surf instructors are all experts in the world of surfing and have dedicated their lives to sport, traveling the world and competing at high levels. Surf Lessons, A unique experience with our carefully selected professionals. Lessons are in a group of up to 6 people. Hourly lessons $50 per person, per group. Private Lessons, Tailor made for you by taking into account your aims and ability's. Lessons are one on one with the coach, $80 per person, per hour. Or $70 per person with 2 or more people. Would prefer atleast 2 weeks notice to order supplies and make cake for you, but would consider any type of time frame, depending on stock I have on hand and committments I have at the time, have been known to pump one out in just 24hours! lol
