Tui Trust has completed the following projects to date:
1. Published No Tuawhakarere - An historical images book relating to the Te Rohe Potae region.
2. Supported a family in Huntly by purchasing uniform items for their child to kickstart their schooling.
3. Supported a family in Hamilton to assist with the wellbeing of their children by purchasing head lice treatment.
4. Published ToitÅ« te Puoro – Songs of Te Rohe PÅtae publication, which is a CD and written compilation of 19 traditional NgÄti Maniapoto moteatea (songs)
5. Benneydale Native Tree Plantings – This entails planting approximately 600 native trees in three separate sites in the Benneydale township.
6. Planted trees around the urupa at Te Miringa te Kakara. Also built a manuka fence and shelter at the entrance of the urupa.
7. Facilitated and delivered traditional wÄnanga (workshops) on the ngÄhere (bush), the importance of kai and kaimoana (food and seafood) and rongoÄ (medicinal plants).
8. Supported families and children of the Emali project in Kenya Africa through Childfund NZ.
9. Provided support and advice on planting native trees in the wider Benneydale region.
10. Supported Nga Toi a Ringa of Otorohanga in the delivery of three wÄnanga covering biodiversity, cultural and whÄnau knowledge and also the importance of water purity.
11. Completed 6 wÄnanga delivering karanga training for women in the Waikato/King Country region.
12. Supporting women in Sri Lanka to build toilets as part of the Child fund Taps, Toilets and Training programme.
13. Fundraised and supported the Samoa Tsunami relief fund via the Farmers relief fund where Farmers Ltd matched our contribution dollar for dollar.
14. Sponsored prizes for local kura kaupapa school fundraising ventures.
15. Sponsored prizes for the local ‘dad’s n lads’ whÄnau development programme where fathers spend time with their sons over a weekend of fishing.
16. Supported local carvers and artists to build their capabilities around business administration skills, sales and marketing. Assisted them to complete the restoration of carvings throughout the University of Waikato.
17. Delivered a slideshow of images around NgÄti Maniapoto historical images to various marae and community groups in the King Country region.
18. Sold the PUNA range of NZ Maori jewellery designed by Shane Te Ruki. Shane is also a trustee of Tui Trust.
