We at Candy Apple are 2 mums both with 2 children under 5 & full time jobs! We felt that it was time to bring a little more 'funky functionality' into everyday life; and what started as a search for fun & gorgeous 'eat ware' has now emerged us into a whole world of colour with the iconic Danish brand RICE!
So sick and tired of poor quality plastic ware for our kids, we wanted something that could handle being 'thrashed' through the dishwasher, thrown on the floor, being ‘annihilated’ by spaghetti bolognese and still look absolutely gorgeous!
We Rice Melamine is 100% Melamine which means 100% food safe, some Melamine out there is mixed with a chemical called Urea (used for fertilising by farmers), totally not food safe - so why would we serve our family food on it? Rice Melamine is thick and durable, so perfect for those summer bbq's and what a way to funk up the table! In addition they are resistant to scratching, heat and acid based foods, (no curry, tea or coffee stains!). They can be used in the microwave although this isn’t recommended as they can get very hot, (so for a quick reheat only).
Rice Melamine is a little more expensive than others, but as with most things in life -there is always a price to pay for quality AND the colours will stay bright for years to come! Your kids will not grow out of the designs, they will take you from the baby age right through to the teenage years & best of all adults love it too!
