Established in 1995 when we were restricted to a mere 8 analogue tracks, Soundpit can now record, outboard up to 48 tracks simultaneously from our studio in Wakefield, Nelson or on location. Reputable sound engineering and lateral thinking have given us a loyal customer base and out of town visitors can take full advantage of the outdoor pursuits, wine trails and National Parks of our region. As well as multitrack recordings for albums and soundtracks, we excel in sound editing and preparation of soundscapes and voiceovers. Our Clients are musicians, vocalists, actors, other recording and post production studios, radio stations, television broadcasters and advertising companies. We can digitally record a demo or full album project in the studio or on location and are happy to edit or compose music for bodybuilding and aerobic competitions, dance shows, examinations and auditions, theatre and dressage tests. With our broadcast quality digital hybrid and our video link we have recorded voiceovers in the studio while connected to Directors and Producers in Wellington, Sydney, Singapore and Los Angeles.

Important Announcement from Director from Feb 23 2011: Nelson was not affected by the earthquake in Christchurch. Nelson is over 300 km from Christchurch and the earthquake only caused damage for about 40 kms. Some students are transferring from Christchurch for a break. We extend our sympathies to all the people of Christchurch and wish their wonderful city a strong recovery. Our school has personality. We are not a chain school, but owned by a teaching Director helped by proud Nelson staff. The school has a ‘buzz’' and you will have the time of your life. Nelson is small and lively. It has a campus feeling with cafes and style. People are friendly and talk to you in English. Most variety. Golden beaches, forests and mountains one hour from the city centre. We can’t think of any place in New Zealand with so much variety.
