The team at Vital Body is committed to delivering tailored treatment specific to your requirements and goals. With this in mind, we take the time to understand your past and current issues and injuries as well as your health and fitness goals. We apply a blend of complementing techniques to provide you with a massage and treatment plan that best suits the needs of your healing and on-going recovery.
Our experienced therapists understand the complexities of rehabilitation, acute and chronic pain and offer the following techniques and therapies for your treatment:
Sports Massage
Are you training for a big event? Are injuries, muscle fatigue or slow recovery getting in the way of your performance? Deep tissue massage is important not only for treatment of injuries but also for injury prevention and more efficient recovery time. Whether you’re a weekend warrior or an elite athlete, we’ll consider your training schedule and specific sporting requirements to create a treatment plan that will ensure you’re back out training and performing at your optimal best.
Neuromuscular Therapy
Whether you have a new injury or on-going pain, Neuromuscular Therapy is a highly effective technique that uses static pressure on specific ‘trigger’ points to relieve pain and help balance the central nervous system. It’s useful for treating and preventing soft tissue injuries and chronic pain and works well in combination with sports massage.
Myofascial Release
If you’re experiencing loss of flexibility or function after injury, or on-going soft-tissue pain then Myofascial Release will be an effective treatment for relieving your symptoms. Myfascial uses gentle pressure and stretching to release the covering, or ‘fascia’, of the muscles. It helps relieve pain and motion restriction and is ideal for muscles that feel tight and won’t release.
Lymphatic Drainage
Prone to illness or infection? Constantly feeling tired or ‘under-the-weather’? Manual lymphatic drainage is a type of gentle, non-invasive massage that encourages the natural drainage of lymphatic fluid from the body. It helps detoxify the body by transporting toxins and waste, reduces swelling and oedema, aids those with a low immunity and enhances blood flow and circulation.
Relaxation
Today’s lifestyles are fast-paced and high-stress; it’s important to take timeout to relax, nurture and revitalise our bodies. Relaxation massage uses smoother, longer strokes and less pressure than other forms of massage. While the focus is to help you relax, massage offers many more benefits such as calming your nervous system, improving blood circulation and helping your body to detoxify.
Kinesio Taping
Kinesio taping is a method of post-treatment taping that allows your body to prolong the benefits of your massage. It helps to increase fluid flow through an injured area, reduce pain and speed the healing process, and works well when used in combination with lymphatic drainage and massage.
