Hi there, and welcome to my facebook page. My name is Kathy Simpson, the owner and operator of my home based sewing business called Sew Unique. Growing up, I was always around all aspects of sewing and clothing alteration and repair as this is what my mother has been doing professionally for over 45 years. As a very young girl I was first taught to hand sew, soon moving onto domestic, then industrial machines. My mother's knowledge, tuition and passion for sewing has been passed on to me along with her skill. With every item, I always lovingly and creatively ensure the most professional finish. Sew Unique started simply from making my own creations for my children, nieces and nephews, and from there friends and strangers soon began asking if I could make the same things for them and their children. I have expericence in many different aspects of sewing, from mending toys, clothing, bedding, patches on things to a whole lot more. I can turn your old clothing into something new eg: a kids t-shirt into a dress or sew a favourite image onto something new. Te Puea is remembered for her stamina, determination and the value she placed on teamwork and collective responsibility. Te Arikinui is remembered for her graciousness, her dignity and diplomacy, and the appreciation she showed for the workers behind the scenes. These qualities are actively valued, encouraged and modelled at our club. We have teams, in all junior grades (Years 1-8), competing in the Eastern Waikato junior competition in Taupiri. We also have college teams that compete in the Hamilton Secondary School competition. Our clubrooms are situated at 32B River Road, Ngaruawahia. All enquiries welcome.
