Keep the Highlanders in Blue, Gold and Maroon

Keep the Highlanders in Blue, Gold and Maroon

University Oval Grandstand, Level 1, Logan Park Drive, Dunedin, Dunedin ,
As reported in the ODT on 27 May, plans were underway to replace the blue, gold and maroon strip with a light green jersey and navy blue shorts. After so many years of fan disillusionment, The Highlanders finally got thier fan base back behind the team. But changing from the blue, gold and maroon, would have alienated so many fans would have given the fans a sense of disownership. The only thing thats kept this franchise afloat is all the fans who put up the tough times in the mid to late '00s and the relative success of the 2011 season should be for those loyal fans. We knew this would hurt the Highlanders and this page was part of a successful campaign to tell the Highlanders "Don't forget your roots and Keep the Highlanders in Blue, Gold and Maroon!" Fortunately this decision was reversed in late 2011 and we're looking forward to a great 2012 season.
