80 Rue Lavaud, Akaroa ,
THE BOAT Wairiri is a classic Kauri launch built in 1964. She has been lovingly restored and is spacious & comfortable with great visability for viewing wildlife and the coastline. Cruising speed is 8 knots, so the rare Hectors dolphins feel comfortable with her. Wairiri doesn't have to chase dolphins--they come to her! LOCAL EXPERIENCE: Tony has lived on Banks Peninsula since the 60s and has spent hundreds of hours diving and fishing these waters. He can confidently take Wairiri in to places that other operators can't: Haylocks & Damons Bay, up in to sea caves, close to where the little blue penguins nest, etc. PERSONAL SERVICE: Tony takes small groups and takes the time to walk around & talk with people individually (instead of using a PA system). He has travelled the world and enjoys meeting people from different countries & cultures. VARIETY: Coastal sightseeing, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, spear fishing--even claybird target shooting! Bring your gear, food & drink. There's a BBQ on board and TWO hot showers!
