A variety of nappy brands are available for short term hire (2 - 4 weeks) for parents to "try before you buy". This allows you to see whether using cloth nappies is your cup of tea and which nappies fit your baby the best.

A Summit is being organised for June 14 with the intent of bringing together leaders from across Porirua’s political, commercial, social, ethnic and educational landscape.
The output from the summit will be the identification of prioritised needs and an agreed work plan – at least 12 months of actions agreed as directions for change in Porirua.

The Cannons Creek Community Pantry brings Cannons Creek residents together around free and low cost food. We are working to provide a wide spectrum approach to increasing community food security by supporting reciprocal action and increasing the profile of good food in our community.
Our first step is to grow fruit and vegetables on our site that will be used in our food parcels and will be grown by community members especially those families who access the food bank.
We are lucky to have support from the Tindall Foundation, Mana Community Trust, the Methodist Church of New Zealand, and the Porirua City Council.

We do not charge any of our junior players subscription fees. This means they get to play Rugby League free of any club charges. Our Seniors have been one of the most successful clubs in the last 10 years winning 4 tittles and producing numerous representative players. The pathway is there for fulltime professionals and we have had a host of juniors make the leap and now striving to play in Australia's NRL.

For 17 Years this Christmas Festival has been about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas – but it's not just for Churches and Christians. The Festival has widespread support from across the community as a feature on the Porirua event calendar and draws on the generous support of the Porirua City Council, community funding agencies, local businesses, churches and community groups. It’s inclusive, family focused and brings the entire community together. Most of all It’s a flag in the ground at a time when people are told Christmas is all about spending money!
Supportive Parents, Porirua, is designed to create a safe place where parents can ask questions. As a community, we should all have the ability to help and guide each other.
