Piha Surf School

Piha Surf School

138 Seaview Road, Piha ,
Anyone that wants to learn or improve their surfing we can help them do so faster and and with better technique. Create good habbits and iron out bad ones. We can help you learn about rips and how to get out to the best waves and back into the beach safely. Surfing is all about catching that magic wave that puts a smile on your face all day. Learn to share and enjoy with all other water users in a fun and safe way. We specialise in helping people improve their surfing at all levels from first timers to top competitive surfers. Beginners don't have to leave chest deep water at Piha to learn fast while top surfers can be videoed and have their surfing analysed frame by frame to optimise their potential. Our lessons are tailored to best meet the needs of each surfer's ability. My Experience: I've lived at Piha my whole life, been surfing for 15+ years, competing for 10 and coaching surfing for over 5 years. I have surfed many places around the world including Australia, Indonesia, England, Ireland, France, America, Panama, Tahiti and Hawaii as well as all around New Zealand. I have my Level 2 surf coaching certificate - the highest qualification as yet available. I love surfing and love teaching the art to anyone willing to learn.

Waitakere Ranges - WEST

Waitakere Ranges - WEST

Seaview Road, Piha ,
Waitakere Ranges – WEST Wind • Earth • Sea • Track Approximately 28kms west of Auckland City, bounded by the wild Tasman Sea and the moody Manukau Harbour, sits the rugged beauty of native forest and black sand surf beaches known as the Waitakere Ranges. This facebook page is my tribute to a special place that has quietly woven itself into the fabric of my life and enriched my soul for the better. Dozens of excellent, stunning books have been published about the Waitakere ranges, and I urge you to seek them out, but one book that influenced my decision to get to know the Waitaks better was, ‘Walking The Waitakere Ranges’ by Alison Dench and Lee-Anne Parore. This book is a comprehensive wealth of information about the Waitakere Ranges and a brilliant guide to walking or tramping there whether you are a beginner or an experienced tramper. Also, if you do plan a trip to the Waitaks, be sure to swing by the wonderful Arataki Visitors Centre on the Scenic Drive, 6km west of Titirangi, for up-to-date info on weather, tides, and track closures etc. Finally, do your bit to help stop the spread of kauri dieback. For more information go to www.kauridieback.co.nz A few brief stats: • The Waitakere Ranges includes 16,000 hectares of native forest and coastline • Approx. 250km of walking and tramping tracks • Highest point 474 m – Te Toiokawharu • 5 reservoirs (dams) supply water to the Auckland region • The ranges receive an average of 2000mm rainfall annually All photos copyright FeroxFotos
