An abundance of activities await at your doorstep, including boating and fishing trips in the Queen Charlotte Sound, walking or biking the Queen Charlotte Track, or visiting the superb vineyards in the Blenheim area and sampling the award winning wines.

We offer a Bar, Restaurant and large courtyard with BBQ, Pool Table and a warm fire for the cooler days. We have a great function room with separate bar to suit a wide variety of occasions. Our Menu caters for Bar Snacks through to full meals. We batter our own fish and have great Steaks along with a selection of vegetarian dishes. Dine-In or Take-away, or we can deliver to your motel by arrangement. Our courtyard is fenced, suitable for the younger family members. Regular live entertainment such as Karaoke, bands, a jukebox. After a successful season in 2012, Tokomaru is back for 2013. With one team we won Round One of Grade two and were promoted to Grade One where we came third at the end of the season. This season we have 4 teams - Premier, Grade One, Grade Three and PRESIDENTS - Be part of the magic and imagine the possibilities!

The Villa has Queen and Twin Rooms with Ensuite, Double Rooms, 4 Share Rooms and Dormitory / Bunkrooms all clean, heated, safe and welcoming. There are linen and blankets provided for all beds. We offer free hot apple crumble with ice cream and breakfast (May - October), have free Wifi for our guests and free use of bicycles, fishing gear, guitar, X-Box, DVD library and pooltable. We have a hot spa pool and a sundrenched garden with plenty of loungers to relax in, a treehouse plus a hammock in the front to watch the world go past. We run free ferry pickups on request, have 2 fully equipped kitchens plus a BBQ kitchen. We have guest laundry facilities, SKY TV in our separate TV lounge and handicapped facilities. Our fire in the courtyard makes for great evening conversations and live music. We offer a free booking service for the Queen Charlotte Track and have tent hire available and free storage for your bags - Nothing for you to worry about while you enjoy a beautiful walk.

Waitaria BaySchool is a decile 10 primary school catering for years 1-8. The current student roll is 10. Principal is Brenda Sutton with second teacher Odette Roper. Despite the school's remote location, Brenda endeavours to get the children involved in as many different activities as possible, including joining in with the other Pelorus cluster schools for events like winter sports, athletics, swimming and the annual speech competition. They also travel out to town for events like the Science Fair and Music Festival. Being in the Sounds means many unique opportunities for education, such as the Kereru Kitchen - an area across the road from school which, with the help of local residents, parents and teachers, the children are landscaping and planting with native trees and plants. The school has also been "donated" a mussel line as a fund-raiser; the children have been out in boats monitoring the seeding of "their" line and are now watching its progress towards harvest.
