Established in Hawke's Bay in 1989, we have eight training venues around the North Island delivering primarily carpentry training, with automotive and plumbing in some venues. We provide training pathways between school and industry for a range of learners. Some of our learners start while at secondary school, some come as school leavers, and some study with us while they are employed or completing apprenticeships.

Onekawa Kindergarten is staffed by 100% qualified registered teachers. The teachers pride themselves on providing high quality education in a caring nurturing safe environment. The kindergarten is very well resourced, is part of the Enviroschools program, promotes Habits of Mind and we offer all 4 year olds the opportunity to work 1:1 with a teacher on a project of their choice before they transition to school. The teachers work in partnership with parents and where appropriate whānau, and are available for informal discussions with families any time during sessions or on Wednesday afternoons by prior arrangement. Parents are welcome to spend time with their child at sessions whenever they wish. The teachers do all paper work necessary for accessing the 20 hours ECE. When children start kindergarten before they turn 3 no fee is charged and once a child turns 3 there are no fees if you are using the 20 Hours ECE for the hours your child is attending. If you are using all or some of the 20 hours ECE elsewhere the charge is $4 per hour for the hours not covered (NB we have information available about WINZ subsidies). We do not charge for any extras such as excursions. We welcome enquiries by email or in person.
