The Joe Smither Music School is Now Taking Enrollments!
Founded by returned Taranaki local, Joseph Smither, and based at New
Plymouth’s WITT, the school offers tuition in all styles, including;
o guitar (all styles)
o piano
o ukulele
o bass guitar
o banjo
o mandolin
o sound mixing and recording techniques
The school offers a wide range of lessons for the individual or group, with prices to suit all budgets.
Joe Smither Music School is also available to tutor in schools around Taranaki.
Why learn music?
Learning music can promote enhanced self-confidence, concentration, patience, relaxation, coordination and memory.As just one example; in 2006, neuroscientists at McMaster University (Ontario) produced the first scientifically documented evidence that young children who undergo regular music tuition show significantly improved memory over the course of a year. This was published in
the high impact scientific journal, Brain.
About Joe Smither...
Joe has over 15 years of experience in Music Tuition and has been working in
some of Melbourne’s finest primary schools for the last 8 years. He has a Diploma of Music Tuition (MWT Institute, Melbourne) and a Diploma of Audio Engineering (SAE Institute, Auckland).
A versatile and accomplished musician as well as a popular and innovative teacher,
Joe has been making music for many years. His main instrument is the guitar,
playing both Classical and Modern styles in bands and duets.
