New Brighton Project
The New Brighton Project is an Incorporated Society, founded in 1994. We run on funding from Council, Community Board and Charitable Trusts.
New Brighton is a unique seaside area with an active sense of community and of its own history, and a strong local commitment to celebrating and improving the area where we live.
Our staff and dedicated volunteers have established a number of groups and run regular events like the Puppet Festival, the International Festival, the New Brighton Community Market in the mall and the annual Christmas Parade. We are also involved with the organisation of the carnival on the foreshore.
Together with you we would like to coordinate events and activities that interest you.
We liaise with local residents, groups, businesses and organisations, the Burwood Pegasus Community Board and the Christchurch City Council.
Subscribe to our e-newsletter so we can keep in touch. We’d like to keep you informed about upcoming events in our area, tell you about what we have been up to lately as well as give you a chance to get involved.
At the beginning of every month we publish a printed newsletter called “The Wave†that can be collected at the New Brighton Library and some local cafes and shops.
