The Colossseum is situated five minutes from Gisborne city in the heart of the fresh produce growing area and vineyards. We have a fantastic outdoor garden and a large lawn backed by grape vines and the Waipoa River. Our influence is New Tuscany, our passion is East Coast. Renowned head chef and owner Mark Gardner creates our unique menu using the finest natural ingredients sourced from our garden and neighboring farms. Fusing Mediterranean styled cuisine with kiwi creativity. We try to create an environment that brings happiness and joy to our customers, our staff, and the community through great hospitality, service, fine food, and wine. We can cater for up to 110 guests in our spacious open dining room. There is a raised stage at the end of the building ideal for presentations, displays, or elevated seating. We have a large bar that boasts the regions best wines and beer, and a separate buffet room creating extra space and flow for large groups. Weather you want a intimate dinner, a get together with friends or large group booking we will be happy to accommodate.

Traditional Street food and cuisine from South America which Juan and I (Julia) experience while backpacking for 10 months, some foods such as guine pig on the barbeque we decided can stay over there ,but we have created a range on dishes we think you will enjoy. Most are a healthier alternative to takeaway options without the being over priced, we are able to provide reasonable prices as we stick to using basic products (meats, vegies, grains) which is what South America is awsome at. They create interesting food usings certain blends of herbs, spices and basic primary ingredients rather than using processed spreads, sauces, etc which is better for you and your pocket. There is something for all ages and budgets with the most expensive item on the menu being $12.
