New Indian Restaurant In Gisborne Town. Very experienced chefs and friendly staff.

The City of Rivers now has its very own Lone Star restaurant, situated in the former Gordon Gecko site at 60 The Esplanade, Shed One, in the Inner Harbour. The Gisborne restaurant comfortably seats 80 guests, and a further 60 can be catered for in a private function room. The bar has been extensively refurbished, offering 9 beers on tap, a fine selection of bottled beer, cider, non-alcoholic beverages, legendary Lone Star cocktails and an interesting wine list with offerings from all over New Zealand, many served by the glass. The sun-drenched deck has a spectacular view of the beautiful marina - you can dine el-fresco too, and it is a wonderful place to enjoy a drink and a yarn after work in the Gissy heat.. It's a wonderful Lone Star in a most picturesque of settings.

The Marina Story This historic building was originally the ballroom of Lysnar House which was built in 1919. The extension of the ballroom to Lysnar House was built for a daughters 21st birthday celebration. The loft where the string quartet played still exists as does the chaperons room at the very top of the building. This section of Lysnar House was moved to its present site in 1974 and was converted to a restaurant. The location of the Marina Restaurant is rather unique being on the junction of three rivers - the Waimata River, the Taruheru River and the Turanganui River.
