From humble beginnings with less than 20 students, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa has grown to be one of the largest and most successful tertiary institutions in the country delivering education to more than 35,000 students nationwide each year.
Te Puna Reo ō Puhi Kaiti

Te Puna Reo ō Puhi Kaiti

4 Cambridge Tce, Gisborne ,
Te Puna Reo ō Puhi Kaiti is a new kind of Te Reo Māori immersion learning environment where Te Reo is the only language spoken around children. The Puna Reo employs qualified and registered Early Childhood teachers (or teachers in training toward a recognised qualification) and is supported by our pakeke who participate in all aspects of life at the Puna Reo. Established by Tarsh Koia and a number of local whānau, the Puna Reo has gone from strength to strength since opening in 2009. Te Puna Reo has an eco-friendly kaupapa as well - using solar power to heat the water, no disposable nappies, cloth instead of paper towels, heaps of time outside and in our own māra kai, the tamariki learn to treat Papatuanuku with care and respect.
