Hi my name is Mel. I am an PORSE Approved Home Based Child Care Educator. I have a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and I’m a fully registered early childhood teacher. I offer a fun, caring & stimulating environment. I want the children to feel safe & happy. I like to help them learn as they play & to help them feel confident in any situation they may be in. I also feel that Home Based care is a more personalised service where you can be more 1 on 1 with the child. As the service is a 1:4 ratio, it means that all children get the attention they deserve. We go to PORSE’s Nature Playschool every week, which gives the children a chance to learn more about the world around us. We also attend a weekly POD group were we get together with other educators and children to provide the children with social interactions with a range of children. There are various organised outings through PORSE. eg: Gym classes, Teddy bears picnics, Fire station trips & much more. This is where the children are able to interact & socialise with larger numbers of children and with other educators. Plus we regularly visit the park! I also provide lots of activities at my home which help to support the children’s Interest and learning e.g. Playdough, Puzzles, water and Sand Play, and much more. I have a current first aid certificate, have been Police checked, and have a full Drivers Licence. A health and safety inspection has been done on my home & i also have references, which are checked by PORSE and that i am happy to share with you too. My house is smoke free. I have a fully fenced section where the children are safe at all times.
