Southern Hunting Adventures is a company specializing in providing memorable hunting experiences at an affordable level to both experienced hunters and the novice. All ages and fitness levels are catered for and no previous experience with hunting or firearms is necessary. Southern Hunting Adventures organise hunts to fit any timeframe or travel plans and some species can be hunted in a 2-3 hour hunt although the more time you have available, the better experience we can offer. We hunt all of New Zealand’s free range game animals depending on availability of certain species and other factors such as open seasons. Chamois, Thar, Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Feral Goat, Wild Sheep, Wallaby and Wild Boar are the large species hunted commonly in New Zealand but we facilitate small game “varminting” on Rabbits, Hares and Possum. Game birds are hunted in season and include Californian Quail, Chukkah, Canadian Geese, and Ducks of various species, Pheasant, Red Legged Partridge and Wild Turkey. Several of these species require licences to hunt and these can be arranged for each member of the party.

Founded in May 1884, the Otago University Rugby Football Club has had more All Blacks than any other club in New Zealand.

The University of Otago is New Zealand’s first university and a vibrant international centre of learning. It was established in 1869 by Scottish settlers with a strong conviction in the transforming power of education. Today the University has about 20,000 students, from all over New Zealand and from nearly 100 countries around the world.

The Otago University Tramping Club is one of the largest and most active clubs on campus. Aside from tramping we’re also into skiing, climbing, mountain biking, daywalking and aquanauting. In addition to this there is a very lively social side to the Club too. The OUTC exists to encourage people to get into the outdoors, learn new skills through various courses and become competent leaders, all while having heaps of fun. We are very lucky to live in, or to visit, New Zealand, surrounded by spectacular scenery, a great network of tracks and huts, and opportunities for off track missions and new adventures. We head into this wilderness every weekend, whether it be the Silverpeaks, Fiordland or even the notorious Copland hotpools. The OUTC has a wide range of social events including our weekly Happy Hour after the Tuesday meeting, Wednesday Walkies and other daytrips, slideshows, potlucks and parties, annual dinner and awards and our infamous Bushball.
