Bennett School of Ballet & Jazz

Bennett School of Ballet & Jazz

The Bennett School of ballet and Jazz has been operating in Dunedin since 1994, taking classes in classical ballet and jazz. Shona and her teachers prepare students for a career in the dance industry and a number of our students have excelled in their training and continue to pursue careers. More importantly, cater for those students who have a love of dance. You can attend The Bennett School just for fun and to meet new friends. We teach the Cecchetti Ballet Method, emphasising the timeless principals of grace, balance and line form the basis of a sound training syllabus that has been developed to meet the needs of today’s modern child teaching co-ordination, poise, confidence, rhythmical sense and musicality while ensuring that the process is still fun! With our Jazz syllabus, the emphasis is on versatility and incorporates a little hip hop, soft shoe, cabaret, contemporary, modern ballet, Spanish, waltz tap and even rock `n' roll in some of the grades. The school is very friendly and family focused and we maintain a very supportive approach to your child's learning. Your child is not just a number in a class but an important member of the dance school and we concern ourselves with your child's needs. Contact The Bennett School to find out more.
