The school also provides boarding facilities for 130 boys, in a newly refurbished residence called Adams House, located about 500 metres to the east. The schools colours are deep blue and black with an occasional flash of gold.

Christchurch Girls' High School was established before Christchurch Boys' High School (1881). Formed in 1877, the Christ's College Old Boys' Association is the the association for former pupils of Christ's College, Canterbury. Christ's College is an independent secondary school for boys and caters for both boarders and dayboys. Every boy who has attended the school is entitled to apply for membership of this Association.
