Course Details
Format: Courses will be one Saturday and one Sunday per month.
A typical month will include a mix of theory and practical sessions. Students will also need to complete readings and theory activities at home during that time.
How will the course benefit me?
The Essential Horse Care course will give participants the necessary skills to:
Recognise emergency situations involving horses
Groom a horse
Select and fit gear for riding
Care for horses in a paddock
Identify horse anatomy
Recognise signs of good health, ill health and common ailments

Course text books
Upon successful completion of the Essential Horse Care course and assessment requirements, students are awarded an Agribusiness Training Certificate in Essential Horse Care and credits towards the Agribusiness Training Certificate in Land Based Skills (level 3).
